Each fall Specialty Graphics Imaging Association (SGIA) hosts a grand expo for people in the digital printing industry. It’s the largest printing trade show in North America. According to CEO Ford Bowers, “It’s where you got to see and learn about the evolution of the print industry.”

This year more than 19,000 people attended the Expo in New Orleans at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center. Make that 19,002, since Barbara and Roger were there, representing Fresh Artists!

Over the years of their attending the event, Fresh Artists has met representatives from all aspects of the industry, forging friendships with those interested in our work.  As a result, all of the gee whiz technology in our East Falls studio is equipped with state-of-the-art equipment donated by members of SGIA.

This year our goal in attending was single-focused: to thank our good friends. So we came bearing gifts.

This year our goal in attending was single-focused: to thank our good friends. So we came bearing gifts: custom-designed tote bags decorated with signature art from the Fresh Artists Collection. The bags, made possible by a big donation of dye-sublimationable fabric from Fisher Textiles, were a big hit with our good friends. And that was the whole idea!

What would we do without SGIA and its generous members?!! Their largesse makes it possible for us to deliver quality art supplies to kids in impoverished schools, and through our annual Cool Jobs expo, introduce middle school youth to the wide range of careers available in digital printing. Wa-HOO for SGIA!
