One of our favorite young artist-philanthropists stopped by for iced tea this Friday to say she’s back in town and see what Fresh Artists has been up to.

We have a long history with Michele Pierson. When she was a senior at Philadelphia’s High School for Creative and Performing Arts (CAPA), she was invited to donate two fabulous paintings to Fresh Artists in 2010: her senior self portrait and a painting of a vegetable vendor in the Reading Terminal Market. Both works of art are very popular and often chosen for our corporate installations.

Michele is a recent Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Spelman College in Atlanta (in art, with highest honors) and has traveled the world with internships in Ghana, China and Florence…as well as the Cleveland Museum of Art and the Philadelphia Museum of Art.

We are delighted she agreed to join our Cool Jobs Advisory Committee, volunteering to help us with our Second Annual Cool Jobs Expo next March.
